Our Art and Nature Club recently ventured out to Upper as part of the Plants on the Edge Project.
The group were lucky enough to see the iconic Spring Gentian also known as the 'jewel of the fell', which was quite an achievement considering the weather! Found nowhere else in mainland Britain the Spring Gentian, along with other members of the Teesdale Assemblage, are facing an uncertain future with their population in decline.
The club are looking forward to developing their observations back in the classroom and continuing to raise awareness and enthusiasm for these tiny giants!
