A group of our keen scientists enjoyed a trip to Durham Univerity for Schools' Science Festival yesterday where they had a great time identifying various mammals from their skulls and comparing them to dinosaurs, trying to decide which were the most closely related.

This was followed up with a session on lava flows in volcanoes where our students tried to work out how much warning people would need to vacate their homes after a volcanic eruption, they then moved on to how looking at how they could maximise their sports performance before finishing off with identifying different birds based on their calls.

It was great to see the group immerse themselves in the day, behaving brilliantly and asking thoughtful questions.
