Last week a group of Year 9 and 10 students attended a Women in Construction event at Bishop Auckland College where they listened to a range of inspiring talks from women in the industry, including designers and company owners.
Everyone was then challenged in teams to plan, cost and build a new college building, based on a brief. The groups were also judged on their ability to collaborate with each other and work as a team to fulfil different job roles.
All our students excelled during the activity, but the judges could only choose one winning team from the whole event. We were thrilled when they announced one of our teams had won!
A massive well done to Grace, Evie, Beth and Phoebe who were the winners for having the best design, and to Betty for being the best Quantity Surveyor on the day! 💡
