This week, Year 8 and 9 enjoyed a day at Bowes Museum taking part in a series of workshops, as part of trips week.

Students had the chance to use ModRoc and wet felt to create sculptures of facial features. Later, the students used iPads to programme Lego cars.

Year 8 student, Liam, said: "I really enjoyed doing activities we wouldn't normally do at school. My favourites were the felted eyes and Lego cars. I really enjoyed these because I found them interesting and they both had a really effective outcome."

Scarlett, added: "We learned new skills, like using the iPads to code our cars to move, stop and turn."

Holly said: "As well as the workshops we were also able to take part in a Lego treasure hunt which allowed us to explore the whole museum. It was a fantastic day!"
