On Friday 6 July our Year 7 and 8 girls' mountain biking team were in action at the School Games final, held at Barnard Castle School.
The team qualified for the finals last month at the level 2 games, held at Teesdale School. The girls finished first place overall, progressing to the finals with ease.
At the final, the team took part in a series of individual and team races throughout the day, finishing in a commendable second place overall. They were even lucky enough to have their shirts signed by Rachael Mackenzie, a world champion Thai Boxer.
Miss Ward commented: "The girls did brilliantly to finish second overall. We are very proud!"
