Our school teaches 550 children across Key Stages 3 and 4 and a small sixth form. We recently joined the North East Learning Trust, a successful multi-academy trust led by The Academy at Shotton Hall, which has two consecutive outstanding grades, an outstanding SCITT and three national leaders of education. This partnership has begun with a clear focus on our school becoming truly outstanding.
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science with either biology or physics specialisms with effect from September 2018.
As a Teacher of Science you will help our young people to develop their knowledge of the scientific method and the fundamental principles of science at Key Stage 3 as well as inspiring them to opt for the separate science courses at Key Stage 4. Your specialist subject knowledge of biology or physics will take our students to the very top tier of understanding and help to make the department a flagship for excellent science teaching. Your hard work and inspiring influence will bring in large numbers of students to the Teesdale Sixth Form and, with your guidance, the Key Stage 5 science outcomes will be among the strongest in the country.

- have a very high level of understanding of biology or physics with a passion to pass this on to others;
- be a creative, imaginative, innovative and experimental classroom practitioner;
