Some of Miss Hewitson's Year 9 class are about to be published artists in an exciting collaboration with London Zoo to raise money to help save endangered animals.

Students are currently working an endangered animals project and are busy creating paintings in the style of expressionist artist Franz Marc. Of these paintings, 10 will be selected by London Zoo to be reproduced as a collection of postcards to be sold at the zoo.

Miss Hewitson is passionate about wildlife conservation and contacted the zoo to see if they would be interested in collaborating with the school and they said "yes!"

Miss Hewitson said: "I think that working in an expressionist way is important for students as many get bogged down with making things ‘look perfect’ or focusing on a realistic outcome. I also wanted to introduce an artist whose work was believable and that would be achievable for them recreate. I contacted UK zoos to find out if any of them would be interested in making our brief a reality, and London Zoo was really interested in the project."
