On Friday 11 May, a group of 37 Year 7 students visited community arts centre, The Witham, to see a theatre production called ‘Chalk About’.
Megan and Grace in Year 7 tell us about their theatre trip:
We saw two actors on a journey as they asked some big questions about identity and the meaning of life. What makes us who we are? Is it where we are from? Or how we talk? Is it the way we dance? Is it our past or our future?
All the way through they used chalk to draw and explain themselves. They incorporated dance routines and invited members of the audience to join them on stage. They also talked about their families, how they grew up and where they were from – parts of it were in German! They used balloons, fabric body cut-outs and chalk to represent their family members and help us understand what happened in their life stories.
Year 7 enjoyed the show and hope that they will be able to visit The Witham again in the future.
