On this general election day, Year 8 students took part in their very own 'mini general election' this morning.
Students first gained knowledge about each party's manifestos and more specifically the policies that effect young people such as university tuition fees, minimum wage and legal voting age.
There were some strong opinions which stimulated some interesting discussion about the key points with students talking about their own ideas on important matters like Brexit. Afterwards the students voted and the results were counted up with Labour taking the victory with 44% of the vote, followed by the Conservatives 24%, SNP 12%, Green Party 8%, UKIP 8% and Liberal Democrats on 4%.
