Rotary Club puts students through their paces

On Wednesday 21 June, 40 students in Year 10 were interviewed by members of Barnard Castle Rotary Club as part of their BTEC Business course unit on selection and recruitment.

Students were tasked with researching a job that they would be interested in the future and createing a person specification and job description for the post. They then wrote a letter of application, created a CV and completed an application form for the job and submitted these to their interviewer.

Thirteen members of The Rotary Club then visited the school, with each Rotarian interviewing three students. Although most students felt very nervous before their interview, the majority admitted to enjoying the experience, and found the feedback on their applications and interview performance constructive.

We'd like to say a big thank you to the Rotary Club for their help and support with the interviews!
