World Book Day

Students at Teesdale School had lots of fun on World Book Day celebrating authors, illustrators, books and, of course - reading!

Games linked to stories by Terry Pratchett and Dr Seuss, amongst others, were a huge hit with the students who came to the lunchtime event. Nicely-designed pirate and fairy themed book jackets and character profiles were created for the annual National Book Token competition.

World Book Day

As World Book Day is also Dr Seuss Day, and this year it would have been the author’s 113th birthday, it seemed only right to follow in his footsteps by making a mess and watching the animated version of Seuss’ ‘Cat in the Hat’ plus other activities.

The event was well-received by students and was the catalyst for the creation of the new English club, running on both Thursdays and Fridays at lunchtime in S2.

All students are invited and, as Seuss would say: "Do not be a ‘Grinch’ and come along to the ‘nexly’ gathering of the club for a chance to have some fun."

Pop along to revisit childhood characters from the books you love as well as to meet new ones.
