The Teesdale History Research Group has realeased the latest issue of their research journal - Trump's America.
The Teesdale History Research Group is made up of students from years 9 to 13. They meet once a week to explore how history is connected to contemporary events. Once a term they produce the Past to Present journal focused on a particular theme. The spring term issue looks at various questions raised by the 2016 US presidential election and the consequences of a Trump victory.
Articles range from a discussion by Cal Baker (Y10) of what Hillary Clinton’s defeat means for the Democrats to an assessment by Grace Tarpey (Y9) of how valid it is to brand Donald Trump a fascist.
Dr Simon Henderson said: “I am incredibly proud of all the students in the group. The quality of the articles in the journal is very high and it is truly impressive that they can write with such authority about their chosen topic. It is a real privilege to work with them every day.”
You can download a copy of the journal below. It will also be sent home to parents alongside the school’s Easter newsletter.
