Yesterday we were very lucky to have a visit from professional photographer Tracy Kidd who kindly came to work with our 6th form photography students.
Tracy taught five of our 6th formers about how to cleverly manipulate light and which technical elements are most useful when taking a successful portrait.
The students' photographs improved considerably within the time that they spent with Tracy. They focussed on how to capture a 'catch light' in the model's eye, which helps portray their character and give life to an image and also how to consider the most flattering angles to frame the model.
Students carefully selected areas with the best backgrounds to take photographs, reflecting natural light to reduce any heavy shadows.
We are very pleased with the 6th formers' results and look forward to seeing how they continue to develop their photographs after the amazing advice received from Tracy.
