Teesdale School and Sixth Form is part of the North East Learning Trust and there are vacancies on the Local Academy Council for two parent governors.
Parent governors are elected by the parents and serve a three-year term of office.
The Local Academy Council at Teesdale School is responsible for working with the Academy’s Senior Leadership Team to support the rapid improvements that are taking place and provide highly constructive support and challenge.
The Trust is fully committed in supporting and developing Governors and will provide training to Governors to enable them to fulfil their role and ensure that the governance is effective.
To apply for the position of parent governor you must have children at the school when elected. Applicants should also have a strong belief in continually improving the quality of education of children at the Academy and have the time to commit to attend training and governing body meetings.
If you are considering standing for election please speak with Dr Janice Gorlach, Executive Headteacher on 01833 638166who will explain the role in greater depth and provide you with a nomination form which on completion must be returned to the school.
The closing date for nominations is Monday 20 November 2017.
