2016 A Level results

Staff and sixth form students at Teesdale School are again celebrating another superb set of A-Level results with an overall pass rate of 98.8%. Moreover 39% of all A-Level grades were A/A*  

Co-Principal Simon Maguire commented: "On behalf of all the staff and governors at Teesdale School we would like to congratulate all of our sixth formers. They have worked extremely hard to secure another excellent set of results and we wish them well for the future whether at university or in employment. The leadership team and governors would also like to thank the school staff and parents for their hard work in supporting these students’ achievements."

The school is especially delighted with the performance of the following students:

 

Emma Turner: A*(English Literature), A* (French) A* (Spanish) A*(Extended Project), A (AS Russian) who will be studying Modern and Medieval Languages at Robinson College, Cambridge University. While in our sixth form, Emma served as president of the school’s Rotary Interact Club and a Lead Learner for Languages.

Rhian Llewellyn: A* (Biology), A* (Chemistry), A* (English Literature), A* (Extended Project), A (Physics) who will be studying Medicine at University College London. While in our sixth form, Rhian served as treasurer of the school’s Rotary Interact Club and a Lead Learner for Science. She also participated in the Medlink programme and undertook an internship with a local GP. 

Jack Parker: A* (English Literature), A* (French), A* (Spanish), A* (Extended Project) who will be studying French and Spanish at Durham University. While in the Sixth Form, Jack served as head boy as well as secretary of the school’s Rotary Interact Club. He was a Lead Learner for Languages and undertook an internship with the Teesdale Mercury.

 

Alec Sabey: A* (Biology), A (Chemistry), A (Maths), C (Extended Project) who will be studying Medicine at Sheffield University. While in our sixth form, Alec served as a lead Learner for Science. He also participated in the Medlink programme and undertook an internship with a local GP.

 

James Davison: A (Computing), A (Maths), A (Further Maths), A (Physics) who will be studying Maths at Manchester University. While in our sixth form, James was Lead Learner for Further Maths.

 

Hannah Brass: Distinction* (Applied Science), Distinction* (Public Services), Distinction* (Sports Studies) who will be studying Sports Coaching at Edge Hill University. While in our sixth form Hannah was Lead Learner for Sport.

 

Rebekah Brass: Distinction* (Applied Science), Distinction* (Sports Studies), Distinction (Public Services) who will be moving on to employment. While in our sixth form Rebekah was a Lead Learner within the PE department.

 

Jonnie Crampton: Distinction* (Applied Science), Distinction* (Public Services), Distinction (Health & Social Care) who will be studying Early Childhood Studies at York St John University. While in our sixth form, Jonnie undertook placements at a local nursery and primary school.

 

Amy Foster: Distinction* (Applied Science), Distinction* (Sports Studies), Distinction (Public Services), Merit (Travel & Tourism) who is exploring a number of opportunities. While in our sixth form, Amy was a Lead Learner within the PE department.

 

Beth Wood: Distinction* (Applied Science), Distinction* (Sports Studies), Distinction (Public Services), Merit (Travel & Tourism) who will be applying for university next year. While in our sixth form, Beth was a Lead Learner within the PE department.
