Lindsay Haggis

Lindsay joined the North East Learning Trust as a governor for Teesdale School and Sixth Form in July 2022. With a background in the engineering and land-based sectors, Lindsay is campus director of East Durham College’s Houghall campus.

Lindsay has a passion for land-based education and rural skills development which prompted a career change and saw her take up her first teaching role as lecturer in equine science at Writtle University College in 2004. As campus director, Lindsay works closely with land-based employers, universities and third sector organisations to ensure the college contributes to research in sustainable agriculture and that young people are well prepared for employment or higher education in these areas. 

Since joining East Durham College in 2010, she has held a number of posts in teaching, pastoral support and management and has particular experience in pastoral support, safeguarding and careers education advice and guidance. Lindsay is pleased to be supporting the school to enable every young person to achieve their full potential and make the most of their talents.
