Dan Pilling

Dan joined Teesdale School as a physical education teacher after graduating from Durham University in 2006.

Before Teesdale, Dan taught outdoor education in a youth offending secure unit and worked in America for six years at a sports Aacademy coaching waterskiing, wakeboarding, football and golf. It was these experiences that led Dan to pursue a career in PE teaching and he has been at Teesdale for the last ten years.

Dan also works for the Edexcel exam board as a senior moderator for sport, he is an international trainer and as if that wasn’t enough, he is also a centre quality reviewer for all BTEC qualifications.

At Teesdale School and Sixth Form, Dan has had a number of pastoral responsibilities  including head of year, assistant head of house, head of Faraday House. His role as Director of Key Stage 3 involves monitoring all students to ensure that they are making the necessary progress in their subjects and that they feel safe and enjoy coming to school.
