Margaret Robson

Margaret joined Teesdale School at the end of September 2016 as Director of Sixth Form. In a previous life she was an assistant headteacher and director of a large sixth form for fourteen years and, more recently, worked part-time as a careers and UCAS co-ordinator in a local school.

Well experienced in all activities related to applying to elite universities and courses, Margaret is equally supportive of students looking for apprenticeships and other more creative activities related to the world of work. She enjoys teaching business studies and critical thinking A Level in particular and supporting extended project qualification (EPQ) students.

Margaret brings a breadth of interest, knowledge and commitment to Teesdale Sixth Form and is determined to ensure that every student is supported in making the best of all their opportunities. She is ever willing to meet students, including those in Years 10 and 11, parents and others who might be interested in broadening the experiences of our students.

More than anything Margaret wishes students to understand that each must:

‘… to thine own self be true,

And it must follow, as the night the day,

Thou canst not then be false to any man.’ (William Shakespeare)
