Teesdale School and Sixth Form vacancies

Robin Lees

I became a parent governor, when my two children attended Teesdale School. During the past six years I have enjoyed meeting staff and students; discussing issues to try and improve education for young people in the area, through curriculum and student related committee meetings; being involved in interviewing prospective teachers and even accompanying ski trips.

After studying chemistry at university and doing a PGCE, I taught on VSO in Kenya for two years, and then taught in a number of schools in Cambridgeshire, Cumbria, Durham and Yorkshire including running the science department in three different schools one of which was Teesdale.

I have lived in Barnard Castle for over twenty years. Now I am retired but keep in touch with education by marking GCSE and A level exams. I have been a staff governor in one school and am also still a governor at Green Lane Primary School.
