Daniel Pilling

Dan joined Teesdale School as a physical education teacher after graduating from Durham University in 2006.

Before Teesdale, Dan taught outdoor education in a youth offending secure unit and worked in America for six years at a sports academy coaching waterskiing, wakeboarding, football and golf. It was these experiences that led Dan to pursue a career in PE teaching and has now been at Teesdale for over a decade. Dan also has extensive experience in a senior role working for an exam board both nationally and internationally.  

At Teesdale School and Sixth Form, Dan has had a number of leadership responsibilities including Head of Year, Head of House and more recently as an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for safeguarding. Dan is passionate about the development of all students at Teesdale and is both proud and excited about becoming the Head of School. Despite being judged as Outstanding by Ofsted and the best secondary state school in the North East by the Sunday Times, Dan is determined to build on these successes and continue the development of the school in any aspect possible
